Plate Circle brings together the key parts of the UK private number plate market in one platform, across five core pillars: number plate auctions, the marketplace, valuations, sold price data and spotted plates. Users can bid on live auction lots, browse plates for sale, list a plate, get a valuation, check what similar registrations have sold for, upload spotted plates and follow individual registrations over time. The core idea is simple: every number plate has one master page, combining the information available about that registration in one place. This gives buyers, sellers and enthusiasts a clearer view of a plate's history, status and market context.

Bid in a number plate auction
Plate Circle runs timed online number plate auctions. Each lot shows the current bid, whether the reserve has been met and the time remaining, and bids placed in the final minutes extend the lot automatically so nothing is won by sniping. Winning bidders pay a 3% buyer's premium, after which buyer and seller details are exchanged so the DVLA transfer can begin. Owners can also submit a plate for a future auction.
Browse plates for sale
Buyers can browse marketplace listings, filter by plate type, character count, theme and price, and make offers where listings are active.
Sell a private number plate
Sellers can create a free listing or upgrade to a premium listing for greater visibility, or put the plate forward for auction instead.
Get a valuation
Users can use the number plate valuation tool to receive a low, mid and high estimate.
Check sold prices
Every valuation can be sense-checked against real evidence: sold number plate prices and DVLA auction results show what comparable registrations have actually achieved, rather than asking prices alone.

Sale introduced process
When a buyer and seller agree a sale and the buyer's premium is paid, Plate Circle introduces both parties so they can proceed with the transaction.
Completing the sale safely
Once an offer is accepted, you confirm and pay the buyer's premium, and Plate Circle supports the DVLA transfer until the plate is in the new keeper's name. For higher-value deals, the buyer and seller can agree to complete through an independent escrow provider, so funds are held by a regulated third party and released only when the transfer is confirmed.
