Monthly spotting leaderboard, prize terms
These terms apply to the Plate Circle monthly number plate spotting leaderboard. By uploading sightings you agree to these terms.

Competition period
Each monthly competition runs from 00:00 on the first day of the calendar month to 23:59 on the last day of the same calendar month (UK time).
How to enter
Hold a registered Plate Circle account, then upload genuine UK private number plate sightings through the upload page. There is no purchase required.
How points are calculated
- 1 point per eligible sighting uploaded during the month.
- 1 bonus point if the sighting is the first ever live sighting of that registration on Plate Circle.
- Where the same user uploads the same registration more than once in the same month, only the first eligible upload counts.
Prizes
- 1st place: £100
- 2nd place: £50
- 3rd place: £25
Eligibility
- You must hold a registered Plate Circle account with a valid email address.
- You must not be suspended, banned or excluded from leaderboard eligibility.
- You must be contactable after the month ends and respond to a winner notification within 7 days.
- Sightings must be genuine, original and uploaded by you.
Quality and duplicate rules
Plate Circle reserves the right to remove sightings from leaderboard calculations where uploads are duplicate, misleading, poor quality, irrelevant, manipulated or otherwise not in the spirit of the platform. Sightings flagged as pending, rejected, removed or duplicate do not count.
How winners are selected and notified
During the month rankings are provisional. Once the month closes, Plate Circle admin reviews the top entries and any invalid sightings are removed. Final winners are confirmed and notified by email to the address registered on the Plate Circle account.
Claim deadline
Winners must respond to the notification email within 7 days. Prizes not claimed within the deadline may be forfeited or offered to the next eligible spotter.
Payment method
Prizes are paid by UK bank transfer following winner verification.
Disqualification and admin discretion
Plate Circle may disqualify any user it reasonably suspects of abuse, duplicate uploads, image manipulation, plate fabrication, spam or any behaviour that breaches these terms or Plate Circle's general terms of use. Decisions of Plate Circle admin are final.
Public display
Usernames, monthly rank and selected sighting counts may be displayed publicly on Plate Circle leaderboard pages, user profile pages and related promotional materials.
Privacy
Personal data is handled in line with Plate Circle's privacy notice.
No guarantee
Plate Circle does not guarantee that every upload will count, that rankings will not change before month end, or that prizes will be awarded if there are not enough eligible entrants.
