About private number plate 1 EDD
The number plate 1 EDD is a dateless registration with a clear one number followed by three letters format. As a number 1 plate, it carries distinct prestige and is considered the pinnacle for the EDD initials. Dateless registrations from the circa 1953, 1963 era, particularly those with a numbers-first layout, are highly collectible, with their simple, timeless aesthetic appealing to enthusiasts. The EDD initials are considered mid-market in terms of popularity and have broad appeal for personalised ownership.
The short, four-character layout of 1 EDD contributes to its desirability, offering a clean and memorable registration. Dateless plates of this format, originating from a time before the introduction of year identifiers, possess a classic look. Originally issued in Kent, this registration is a fine example of a historically significant format that predates current UK registration systems.
Plate Circle brings together number plate history, value context, for sale listings, spotted records and verified sold-price history where available.
