1 NRV private number plate

1 NRV is a four-character dateless registration presented in a number-letter format. As a number 1 plate, it holds a singular appeal, representing the pinnacle of that numerical sequence for any set of initials. Such registrations are significantly more sought after than those starting with higher numbers.

The format of 1 NRV offers a concise and impactful presentation. The number 1 at the start, combined with three letters, creates a clean and memorable registration. Dateless plates from this era have the timeless look associated with early UK registrations, and this format first appeared broadly between the early 1950s and early 1960s. This particular registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2022. It sold for £7,910 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £10,156.

Initial combinations are a primary motivation for many private plate buyers, and the NRV initials offer a mid-market appeal. This suggests a broad potential audience looking for a personal identifier that is both distinctive and recognisable.
