1 OFN private number plate

The number 1 holds a unique status in the world of private registrations, often representing the pinnacle for a set of initials. As such, 1 OFN stands out with its definitive number 1 and a concise four-character format. The format itself, with one number followed by three letters, contributes to its clean and modern appearance. Number 1 plates are generally considered significantly more sought after than those bearing a number 2 or higher, and fewer digits typically result in a shorter, more desirable registration.

1 OFN is a dateless registration, meaning it does not display a year identifier. This style is associated with the timeless look of early UK number plates. While the exact original issue period for dateless plates can vary, those with a number-first format, such as this example, were generally issued in the mid-20th century. This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £6,400 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £8,294. The initials OFN are positioned within the mid-market band for popularity, suggesting a reasonable breadth of potential appeal.
