About private number plate 1 OHJ
The registration 1 OHJ presents a prime example of a short, dateless four-character plate. Its structure, utilising the number 1 followed by three letters, positions it at the forefront of desirability for a number 1 plate. Number 1 holds a unique status, being the most sought-after number for initial combinations, significantly more so than any subsequent number.
This plate format, a single number followed by three letters, aligns with the earliest and most historically significant era of UK vehicle registrations. Such short, dateless plates, issued between circa 1953 and 1963, are highly prized for their clean, uncluttered appearance and their historical connection. The "OHJ" initials offer a decent level of popularity, suggesting a broad potential buyer pool.
The registration 1 OHJ was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2025. It sold for £13,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £16,705.
