1 OSW private number plate

1 OSW is a compelling four-character dateless registration. At the forefront of its appeal is the presence of the number 1, universally recognised as the pinnacle for any initial set. This format, with a single number followed by three letters, presents a clean and highly desirable aesthetic.

Dateless registrations of this nature, particularly those from the era around 1953 to 1963, represent a finite supply. Registrations with fewer digits, such as this four-character mark, are generally recognised for their visual strength and impact, tending to carry stronger collector interest. The OSW initials offer a decent personal connection for a broad audience of potential buyers, aligning with the primary motivations for purchasing a private registration.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £6,100 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £7,906.
