1 OWO private number plate

1 OWO is a distinctive four-character number plate. As a number 1 plate, it represents the pinnacle for any initials set it might represent, offering a strong visual statement. Its short, dateless format has the clean look associated with registrations from the earliest eras of vehicle identification.

The “OWO” initials offer a broad base of potential appeal. Such initials do not typically correspond to a specific surname or business name, but their general recognition and straightforward three-letter structure make them widely adaptable for personal use. The plate's 1 OWO reading could be seen as a simple, direct initial display.

This registration has the desirable format of a single digit followed by three letters. The early dateless plates, especially those with few characters, are highly sought after due to their historical significance and visual appeal. The number 1 holds a special place on such plates, being the ultimate single digit. For context, dateless registrations from the circa 1953 to 1963 window, such as this format, are notable for their rarity.

1 OWO was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021. It sold for £18,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £23,125.
