1 OXR private number plate

1 OXR is a distinctive four-character dateless registration. The format of one number followed by three letters, one number followed by three letters, is highly sought after for its clean and compact appearance. As a dateless plate, it has the timeless look associated with registrations that do not display a year identifier.

The number 1 is a significant feature for any registration, representing the pinnacle for personalised number series. For a dateless plate paired with initials, number 1 is considered the most desirable possible, typically holding greater collector interest than equivalent registrations with higher numbers. The short, four-character length further enhances its visual appeal and memorability.

This registration is comprised of the initials OXR. While these initials may appeal to a more specific audience due to their niche demand, the combination of strong number 1 and a short, dateless format provides significant appeal. The plate was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £4,700 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £6,091.
