1 PUC private number plate

1 PUC is a dateless registration with a simple format of one number followed by three letters. The number 1 holds a unique appeal in the world of private registrations, often seen as the pinnacle for any initial set it accompanies. Its short, four-character length contributes to a clean and direct presentation, a characteristic favoured by many collectors. As a dateless registration, it presents a timeless look, free from any age identifier.

Dateless registrations of this nature, particularly those with a numbers-first layout, typically originate from the period between roughly 1953 and 1963. The format of 1 PUC, with its single numeral followed by three letters, showcases a style that shares characteristics with registrations from that era. This specific registration was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2020. It sold for £9,810 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,596.

The initials PUC offer potential for personal connection, appealing to those seeking a direct match for their name or initials. While the popularity of these initials is considered niche, their unique combination on a dateless plate carries significant appeal for the right buyer. The presence of the number 1 further enhances its distinctiveness.
