1 SHT private number plate

1 SHT stands out as a highly desirable dateless registration, primarily due to its prominent number 1 position signifying its importance as the ultimate commencement. This arrangement, with a single number followed by three letters, presents a concise and memorable four-character format. Dateless plates possess a timeless appeal, avoiding the age identifier inherent in current registration styles, and 1 SHT aligns with this classic look.

The layout of 1 SHT, featuring numbers first, is a format that holds considerable collector interest. While letters-first dateless plates are generally more sought after due to their association with the earliest registration eras, numbers-first dateless plates such as this still offer significant appeal and a clean, unfettered appearance. The initials SHT are considered to have decent popularity, suggesting a broader potential buyer pool.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021. It sold for £15,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £19,273.
