1 WVR private number plate

1 WVR is a distinctive four-character dateless registration. Its number-first format, with the number 1 preceding three letters, holds particular appeal. Number 1 registrations are uniquely sought after, representing the pinnacle for any set of initials. Plates featuring the number 1 generally carry greater desirability than those with higher numbers, owing to their exceptional prominence.

The WVR initials present a clear and concise reading. As a dateless registration, 1 WVR does not reveal a year identifier, giving it the clean look associated with earlier-style registrations. While this specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016, its format mirrors those from earlier eras, which are historically favoured for their brevity and classic aesthetic. It sold for £9,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £11,923.

With a short, four-character layout, 1 WVR is easily memorable and has strong visual appeal. This combination of a leading number, short format and distinct initials suggests broad interest among buyers focused on personal identity or recognisable character sequences. The DVLA auction in 2016 saw the sale of this registration, indicating its presence in the market as a desirable personalised plate.
