1 WXJ private number plate

1 WXJ is a distinctive four-character dateless registration. Its number-first format, placing the number 1 prominently, offers a powerful visual statement. As the definitive number 1 for this initials set, it naturally holds a unique appeal for collectors and personal buyers alike. The registration features the initials WXJ, which, while having a more niche demand, contribute to the plate's distinctive character.

This registration does not show a year identifier, a characteristic of dateless plates that provides a clean and timeless look. The format, number 1 followed by three letters, is a classic style associated with the earliest periods of UK vehicle registration. Registrations with fewer digits are generally more sought after, and this four-character plate exemplifies that principle. Specifically, numbers at the very beginning of the sequence, such as the number 1, are considered the pinnacle for any set of initials they represent.

The plate 1 WXJ was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021. It sold for £7,840 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £10,067.
