1 YYR private number plate

The number 1 holds a unique significance in the world of private registrations, and 1 YYR is a striking example. As a dateless plate, it has the clean, timeless look associated with registrations from the earlier eras of UK vehicle marking. This format, a single numeral followed by three letters, is compact and inherently appealing to collectors.

As the definitive number 1 for the YYR initials, 1 YYR represents the pinnacle for this particular combination. The number 1 is recognised as significantly more sought after than any subsequent number for a given set of initials, and its presence here amplifies the plate's distinctiveness. The initials YYR themselves are categorised as having niche to low demand, suggesting a degree of rarity and personal appeal for those whose names or brands align with this specific sequence.

The registration 1 YYR was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2018. It sold for £5,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £6,480. Its four-character structure is concise and memorable. The dateless format, meaning it does not show a year identifier, offers a classic aesthetic that remains highly desirable.
