11 CE private number plate

The four-character dateless registration 11 CE features a clean layout with two numbers followed by two letters. This short format, measuring just four characters, has the clean look associated with dateless registrations. The number 11 includes a repetition of the digit 1, which creates a matched pair and adds visual appeal. Repetition in numbers or letters can strengthen a plate's aesthetic and make it more memorable.

The initials CE have a decent level of popularity. These initials could suit individuals with these letters in their name, making it an option for personalising a vehicle. The number-letter structure also contributes to its appeal as a cherished registration.

The "CE" code in this number-letter format was originally issued in Peterborough (Cambridge). While the number 1 is generally considered the pinnacle for initials, lower double-digit numbers such as 11 are also sought after. Generally, fewer digits produce a shorter, cleaner registration, and double digits are often considered more desirable than triple or four-digit registrations.

The dateless format of 11 CE means it does not show a year identifier, offering a timeless aesthetic. This registration first entered circulation through a DVLA auction in 1993. It sold for £2,600 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,361.
