115 RB private number plate

The 115 RB registration is a dateless five-character plate featuring three numbers followed by two letters. Its format, three numbers followed by two letters, offers a clean and concise presentation. The 'RB' initials are an example of strong initials, suggesting a broad appeal to potential buyers. While its numbers are not in the lowest hierarchy, the three numbers followed by two letters structure contributes to its market appeal. As a dateless registration, it has the timeless look associated with dateless registrations and does not show a year identifier.

Dateless registrations of this style originate from the earliest eras of UK vehicle registration. The 'RB' identifier itself is recognised as an original area code, historically associated with Nottingham (Derby). The format of dateless plates typically comprises letters and numbers from the earliest registration periods, with earlier formats and fewer characters generally holding greater collector interest. The plate 115 RB was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2020. It sold for £10,060 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,917.
