12 BX private number plate

12 BX is a four-character dateless registration with a straightforward format. It combines two numbers followed by two letters, a layout that offers a clean and concise appearance. Dateless plates do not show a year identifier, contributing to the timeless look associated with them.

As a shorter registration, 12 BX has inherent appeal due to its compact nature. This format is generally more sought after, and its brevity lends itself to easy memorisation and display. The BX initials represent a niche to low-demand set, suggesting a degree of rarity and distinctiveness for this particular combination. While not a date reading or a direct word, the initials provide a personal angle, making it a potential choice for an individual or entity associated with "BX".

This registration first entered circulation through a DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £2,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £2,851. Historically, shorter formats and registrations with fewer digits are often favoured by collectors. The number 12, being a relatively low number within its band, contributes to this desirability, with lower numbers generally carrying stronger collector appeal than higher ones.
