12 GDC private number plate

12 GDC is a five-character dateless registration with two numbers followed by three letters. Its number first, letter second format is a classic style that does not show a year identifier, offering a clean aesthetic. The initials GDC are considered to have decent, above average appeal, suggesting a potentially broad audience of interested buyers.

The number 12 is a lower number within the 10-99 band, which generally holds stronger appeal compared to higher numbers in the same range. Dateless registrations from this era, particularly those with fewer characters, are often sought after for their simplicity and historical connection to the early days of vehicle registration.

This registration was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £1,400 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £1,814.
