16 OAT private number plate

The dateless registration 16 OAT comprises five characters in a two numbers followed by three letters format. This layout, with its clear two numbers followed by three letters structure, offers recognisable initials appeal.

As a dateless plate, 16 OAT does not show a year identifier, contributing to the clean, timeless look favoured by many collectors. Dateless registrations are associated with the earliest eras of vehicle registration in the UK, often sought after for their historical context and compact appearance.

The number 16 offers a straightforward numerical element, while OAT presents a distinct set of initials. This combination is likely to appeal to individuals seeking a personal plate for the initials OAT, which are a mid-market popularity set. The plate's relatively short, five-character length also contributes to its visual balance and memorability.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2026. It sold for £10,650 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £13,163.
