18 ME private number plate

The 18 ME registration offers a compact and visually appealing four-character format. Its dateless classification means it does not display a year identifier, contributing to a clean and timeless look often sought by collectors. As a short, four-character plate, 18 ME adheres to the general preference for brevity and clarity in registration marks.

With the letters ME, the plate has the potential to appeal to individuals whose initials are ME, or who are looking for a registration that reads as a personal identifier. The initials ME are considered to have decent, broader appeal within the UK market. This type of registration is popular with buyers seeking a direct personal connection, as indicated by market observations suggesting personal names and initials are a leading motivation for purchasing private plates.

The registration 18 ME was first entered into circulation through a DVLA auction in 2002. It sold for £5,100 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £6,592. This means it is not a genuine period issue but rather a mark that became available for private ownership from that point. The dateless format, with numbers preceding letters, is a classic style. While the ME code itself has historic associations with London NE, this specific registration's availability dates from the early 2000s following its release at auction.
