2 GBY private number plate

2 GBY is a four-character dateless registration. Its short, clean format presents the number 2 followed by the letters GBY. The number 2 holds significance as a very low number, typically appealing to buyers looking for distinctiveness. Dateless registrations, by not displaying a year identifier, offer the timeless look associated with earlier registration eras.

This registration offers broad appeal for individuals seeking to represent the initials GBY. The initials themselves are considered to have niche to low demand, meaning they are less commonly encountered but may hold particular significance for a specific set of individuals. The strength of a registration often lies in its personal connection for the owner, and the DVLA's own surveys highlight that personal names or initials are the leading reason for motorists to consider a private registration.

2 GBY was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2022. It sold for £4,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,136. It has since been sold at a specialist auction in April 2022.
