2 GVH private number plate

2 GVH is a four-character dateless registration with a single number preceding three letters. Its format is one number followed by three letters, placing the number first against the letters, a style associated with earlier registration periods. The low number value of 2, combined with its short, four-character length, presents a clean and direct aesthetic. The initials GVH offer potential for personal appeal.

The dateless nature of 2 GVH means it does not show a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look. Such registrations were typically issued between 1953 and 1963. The brevity of the format is a key element in its desirability, with fewer digits generally enhancing a plate's visual impact and collector appeal.

The initial set GVH is considered to have decent popularity, indicating a potentially broad appeal to individuals with those initials. While the focus for this plate is on its structure and initials, the inherent qualities of a short, dateless registration continue to attract specialist interest.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in April 2023. It sold for £5,430 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £6,972.
