2 GXG private number plate

2 GXG is a dateless registration with a number-letter format, comprising one number followed by three letters. Its distinct shortness, offering a four-character layout, contributes to its clean and desirable appearance. Dateless registrations, originating from an era before the introduction of year identifiers, possess a timeless quality that appeals to many buyers.

The number 2 at the beginning of 2 GXG represents a very low number, placing it in a higher tier of collector interest compared to registrations with more substantial numbers. This makes it a strong choice for individuals seeking a short, memorable registration. The initials GXG can also offer a personal connection for a user, appealing to those looking for a unique identifier.

Historically, registrations with fewer characters, particularly those with a number-letter structure, have demonstrated significant market appeal. This is due to their inherent brevity and visual punch. The dateless nature of 2 GXG allows it to be seen as a registration that does not overtly denote a year, offering a clean look.

2 GXG was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2017. It sold for £2,100 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £2,722.
