2 HGV private number plate

2 HGV is a four-character dateless registration. As a numbers-first, one-digit followed by three-letter format, it has a clean and short appearance representative of early UK registration styles. The number 2 positions it as a very low number, offering a degree of prominence, and the clear HGV initials provide a strong foundation for a personal registration. Such combinations of a low number and clear initials are typically sought after by buyers looking for distinctive personalised plates. This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £13,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £16,705.

The primary appeal for 2 HGV lies in its short, dateless format and the prominent initials HGV. While no specific word or name reading is evident, the combination of a low number and a three-letter initial set offers broad potential for personal significance. Buyers often favour such registrations for their directness and the opportunity to represent their name, initials, or a chosen identifier. The structure of 2 HGV aligns with the collector appeal of early, concise UK registrations.

2 HGV was first entered into circulation through a DVLA auction in 2024.
