2 NHL private number plate

The four-character registration 2 NHL is a striking example of dateless number plate format, featuring a single digit followed by three distinct letters. Its compact layout, with just four characters, offers a clean and visually appealing aesthetic, often favoured by collectors. The number 2, appearing at the start of the sequence, presents a notably low number, suggesting a strong level of desirability for this style of registration.

As a dateless registration, 2 NHL does not display a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look. This format is typical of registrations issued between circa 1953 and 1963, a period often sought after for its historically significant and compact plate designs. The registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £2,900 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,758.

The initials NHL are considered to have mid-market popularity, suggesting a broad potential appeal to individuals whose names or initials align with these letters. This makes 2 NHL a versatile option for buyers seeking personal significance.
