2 OEM private number plate

2 OEM is a four-character dateless registration. Its number-letter format, with the low number 2 at the front, generally appeals to buyers seeking a clear and concise registration. The initials OEM are considered to have decent, broadly encountered appeal, suggesting a wider pool of potential owners.

This style of registration, known as dateless, does not show a year identifier and has the clean look associated with older plates. Dateless registrations, particularly those from the earliest eras, hold significant collector interest. The format itself, with a single number followed by three letters, is a well-recognised and sought-after style.

2 OEM was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2026. It sold for £10,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,372. Dateless registrations with a single number followed by three letters are typically more desirable than those with more characters or higher sequential numbers. The structure of 2 OEM, with its short, impactful layout, contributes to its distinctiveness.
