2 OON private number plate

The short, four-character dateless registration 2 OON presents a compelling combination of a prominently placed low number with a clear initials set. As a dateless plate, it has the clean look associated with registrations from the era prior to the introduction of year identifiers. This format, with one number followed by three letters, is also recognised for its strong visual appeal and memorability.

The number 2 is the second lowest numerical value available on a dateless registration, and its position at the front of 2 OON typically enhances its desirability. Dateless plates with minimal characters, particularly those featuring single-digit numbers at the start, are often favoured by collectors for their compactness and aesthetic clarity.

The initials OON are a key draw for this registration. In the UK, personal initials are a primary motivation for purchasing a private number plate, and OON offers a distinctive and easily recognisable set. Combined with the visual structure of the plate, it has the potential to appeal to a wide range of buyers seeking personalised registrations.

The registration 2 OON was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £10,770 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £13,829.
