2 PGO private number plate

2 PGO offers a clean, concise four-character format. Its dateless nature means it does not show a year identifier, contributing to a timeless aesthetic that appeals to collectors and those seeking a straightforward personalised registration. The numbering system places 2 at the start, a low single digit with intrinsic appeal.

As a dateless plate, the format of 2 PGO is associated with the earliest registration eras, the earliest very short dateless registrations pairing one or two letters with a single number being described as the most desirable historic formats. The style is also one favoured by those who appreciate the look of classic UK number plates, distinct from current formats.

The initials PGO are of mid-market popularity, suggesting a potentially broad audience of individuals or businesses seeking to represent these letters. Personal connections, particularly names or initials, are widely reported as a leading reason for acquiring a personalised registration.

2 PGO was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2017. It sold for £1,500 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £1,944.
