2 POB private number plate

The registration 2 POB is a four-character dateless plate, with a concise layout of one number followed by three letters. Plates of this length and format are typically seen as short and desirable. The presence of the number 2, a low single digit, adds to its appeal as numbers from 2 to 9 are generally more sought after than those with multiple digits. This type of format, number-first dateless, is characteristic of registrations that first appeared on UK roads. The initials POB have a decent level of popularity, suggesting a broader potential audience for personalisation.

The format with one number and three letters, such as 2 POB, is associated with plate designs that allowed for a clean, timeless look. Registrations of this style first entered circulation through a DVLA auction in 2017. It sold for £6,100 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £7,906. The low number, combined with the initial POB, could particularly interest someone with these initials looking for a distinctive and short registration. This concise structure helps to create a memorable display.
