2 RKW private number plate

2 RKW presents a short, four-character format, a desirable characteristic for personalised registrations. As a dateless registration, it does not show a year identifier, offering a clean look associated with earlier issue periods. The format of one number followed by three letters is a recognised style, and the number 2 positions it as a low number, which typically holds strong appeal.

The initials RKW offer strong potential for personal identification. With an estimated appeal in the upper quartile, these initials suggest a broad potential audience of buyers seeking a unique mark for their name or a memorable identifier. Personal connection is a leading reason for purchasing a private registration, and RKW has the structure to fulfil this need effectively.

The dateless format, broadly associated with registrations issued between circa 1953 and 1963, carries with it a sense of history. While this specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2004, the style itself is reminiscent of an era when personalised plates first began to gain prominence. It sold for £2,600 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,284. Short, dateless registrations, particularly those with fewer characters, are generally considered the most desirable historic formats.
