2 URS private number plate

The registration 2 URS is a four-character mark with a distinctive number-first layout. Its short format and dateless appearance contribute to its appeal, offering a clean visual impression often associated with earlier registration styles. While dateless plates do not display a year identifier, their concise nature remains a significant draw for many.

This registration carries the appeal of a low number, with the digit 2 occupying the first position. In the hierarchy of numbers, single digits like 2 are generally more sought after than higher numbers, and plates with fewer digits typically hold stronger collector interest. The one number followed by three letters format, where a number is followed by three letters, offers a classic structure.

The letters URS on the plate are positioned as initials. While these initials are considered to have niche or low demand, they can still hold personal significance for individuals or families. The personal connection to initials is a key motivation for many private registration buyers.

The plate 2 URS was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2026. It sold for £6,830 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £8,442.
