2 USK private number plate

The registration 2 USK presents a compact four-character format, with a single number preceding three letters. This arrangement, falling into the dateless category, offers a clean aesthetic, free from the year identifiers found in later registration styles. Dateless plates generally hold considerable appeal for collectors, with earlier formats such as this one noted for their historical significance.

As a dateless registration, the format of 2 USK does not show a year identifier. This style of plate, issued broadly between 1953 and 1963, has a timeless look. The specific historic area associated with this registration is Liverpool, within the North West England region.

The appeal of 2 USK is underpinned by several factors. Its short, four-character length contributes to its desirable visual impact and memorability. The number 2 leading the registration is a low number, which typically carries stronger market appeal than higher numbers in comparable formats. The structure, featuring numbers first followed by letters, is a classic dateless style that remains highly regarded. This plate was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021. It sold for £23,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £29,545.
