2 WOD private number plate

2 WOD is a four-character dateless UK private number plate presented in a number-letter dual format. Its short, clean presentation, consisting of one number and three letters, lends itself to desirable initials for many buyers. The number 2 occupies the first position, offering a strong start to the registration, with the letters WOD following.

This registration has a known provenance, having been released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2019. It sold for £12,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £15,552. This means it did not enter circulation as an original period issue. The dateless format, characterised by its lack of a year identifier, ensures it has the timeless look associated with registrations from the earliest eras of UK vehicle licensing. Such registrations can appeal to buyers seeking a clean and uncluttered registration number.

The initials WOD may appeal to individuals with those initials, or those looking for a registration that spells out a word or name fragment. The plate's four-character length also contributes to its appeal, offering a more compact and often more visually striking registration than longer formats. The "low number" aspect, with the digit 2 at the beginning, is a common draw for collectors and enthusiasts who typically favour registrations with lower numerical values or patterns.
