20 MJR private number plate

20 MJR is a five-character dateless registration. It uses a numbers-first format, with the number 20 preceding the letters MJR. This style of registration, featuring two numbers followed by three letters, is a common format for dateless plates, and 20 MJR has the clean look associated with dateless registrations.

The combination of letters MJR is likely to interest those seeking a personal initials plate. Such plates hold broad appeal for individuals looking to represent their initials, reflecting a significant motivation for buyers of private registrations according to DVLA surveys. The 'MJR' sequence offers a straightforward and recognisable set of initials.

Dateless registrations, such as 20 MJR, do not show a year identifier, contributing to their timeless appeal. Historically, dateless registrations from the earliest eras, particularly those with letters first, are highly prized. While 20 MJR is a numbers-first dateless plate, its brevity and clean design remain attractive.

This particular registration was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2022. It sold for £15,020 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £19,286.
