20 PET private number plate

20 PET presents as a neat five-character registration in a numbers-first dateless format. It has the clean look associated with dateless registrations, which does not show a year identifier, and is broadly associated with the circa 1953 to 1963 window. The format is two numbers followed by three letters, a layout that has historically been sought after.

The appeal of 20 PET lies in its straightforward presentation of the initials PET. For those whose surname or preferred moniker begins with these letters, it offers a direct and clear representation. The inclusion of the number 20 adds a distinct personal touch without obscuring the primary initials reading. Such registrations are often favoured by individuals seeking a personal connection to their vehicle's identification.

The registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £2,600 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,370.
