24 OR private number plate

24 OR is a dateless four-character registration with a clean, short format. Its two-by-two layout of two numbers followed by two letters offers a compact and easily remembered registration. Dateless plates are highly sought after for their ability to avoid displaying a year identifier, providing a timeless look.

This registration offers appeal as an initials plate, with "OR" being a recognised and straightforward combination. Such plates often interest buyers looking for a personal or business initial representation. The number 24 is a low number within the two-digit band, which generally appeals to collectors.

The "OR" initials were originally issued in the Portsmouth area. This format is associated with the earliest registration eras, reflecting a long history of vehicle identification in the UK.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2019. It sold for £4,400 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,702.
