6 AFX private number plate

6 AFX is a dateless registration with a recognisable number-letter format. This style of registration, featuring a single digit followed by three letters, is commonly associated with a period of historical vehicle registration, though this specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2026. It sold for £7,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £8,664. The short, four-character length offers a clean and easily memorable presentation.

With the initials AFX, this plate is likely to appeal to individuals seeking to represent their name or initials. The "AFX" combination falls into a niche on the market, suggesting it may resonate with a focused audience. The number 6, being a low digit, adds a degree of visual distinction. The format of a single number followed by three letters is a classic and sought-after structure, often associated with early registrations and a timeless aesthetic.

In line with general market appeal for dateless registrations, shorter formats tend to attract buyers. The structure of 6 AFX, being a four-character registration with a clear number-letter progression, aligns with this preference. The appeal of a dateless plate lies in its clean presentation, not displaying a year identifier, contributing to its enduring desirability.
