6 FOS private number plate

6 FOS is a distinctive four-character dateless registration. Its short format and numbers-first layout contribute to a clean and compact appearance, traits typically sought after by collectors and individuals looking for a memorable identifier. The presence of a low single-digit number on a dateless plate enhances its desirability, offering a classic aesthetic.

As a dateless registration, 6 FOS does not show a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look. Such plates are associated with the earliest registration eras, adding a layer of historic appeal. The format, one number followed by three letters, represents a particular style of early UK registration.

This registration may appeal to individuals with the initials FOS. The acronym implies a decent level of initials popularity, suggesting a broad potential audience among buyers seeking personalised registrations for personal or business use. Personal connections, such as initials, are a leading motivation for acquiring private plates.

The 6 FOS registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £5,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £6,739.
