6 MWB private number plate

6 MWB is a four-character dateless registration with a single number followed by three letters. Dateless plates hold a distinct appeal due to their clean look, not showing a year identifier. Registrations from this era, particularly those with a single number and three letters, are recognised for their desirable and straightforward format.

As a standalone low number, 6 offers a concise and impactful presence. The number 6 is significantly more sought after than its numerical successors within this format, reflecting a general preference for shorter registrations. The combination of a low number and a compact four-character layout makes 6 MWB a strong contender for personal initials.

The initials MWB represent a strong appeal, likely to interest a wide range of potential buyers. This format, featuring a number first, aligns with a style that originated in the approximately 1953 to 1963 period, and registrations of this kind are known for their enduring collector interest.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £8,130 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £10,439.
