6 ODS private number plate

6 ODS is a four-character dateless registration with a single number followed by three letters. This format, characterised by its short length, is a key part of its appeal, offering a clean and uncluttered look. The number 6 is at the lower end of the digit spectrum, which typically enhances market appeal for such registrations. Coupled with the initials ODS, the registration has a straightforward structure that may interest individuals seeking personalised plates for their initials.

The dateless nature of 6 ODS means it does not show a year identifier, allowing it to maintain a timeless aesthetic regardless of the age of the vehicle it is assigned to. Registrations from this era, broadly from the mid-20th century, are generally sought after for their historical significance and distinctive appearance. These earlier formats, often featuring fewer characters, are a common draw for collectors and enthusiasts appreciating the legacy of vehicle registration.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in August 2023. It sold for £20,010 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £25,693.
