About private number plate 6 OLD
The dateless UK private registration 6 OLD presents a strong word reading, with the number 6 visually representing a 'G' to create GOLD. This direct reading connects to a recognisable word with broad appeal.
As a dateless private plate, 6 OLD uses a format that does not show a year identifier, offering the timeless look associated with these registrations. This format, with one number followed by three letters, is concise and visually clear, contributing to its desirability. The number 6 itself is a low single digit, which generally carries stronger appeal than higher numbers or those with more digits, helping to create a short, memorable registration. The initials OLD might also appeal to personal initials buyers. This specific registration first entered circulation through a DVLA auction in 1998. It sold for £4,600 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,946.
