6 SYG private number plate

6 SYG is a four-character dateless registration. The format of one number followed by three letters, one number followed by three letters, is a clean and concise layout widely recognised for its visual appeal. The number 6 as a leading digit is typically sought after, and combined with the letters SYG, it presents a straightforward and compact registration.

As a dateless plate, 6 SYG does not show a year identifier, offering the clean look associated with dateless registrations. This type of registration format is generally more sought after as it has the timeless look associated with early UK vehicle registration marks.

The letters SYG represent a recognised initials set for owners seeking to personalise their registration. Initials interest varies widely, with SYG being a niche, lower-demand set, typically appealing to a narrower but dedicated buyer pool. Registrations with initials personal to an owner, rather than those with broader popularity, are often chosen for their unique and specific significance.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2017. It sold for £2,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £2,851.
