6 YAB private number plate

6 YAB presents a concise, four-character dateless registration. Its numbers-first, one number followed by three letters format, with the single digit 6, has the visual appeal of a low number. This format is broadly associated with registrations issued between circa 1953 and 1963.

The initials YAB offer a degree of personal appeal, potentially suiting individuals with those initials. While the initials themselves are described as niche or low demand, their combination with a short, dateless format and a low number like 6 can create a distinctive and memorable registration.

As a dateless registration, 6 YAB does not show a year identifier, contributing to the clean and timeless look often sought after. These types of registrations, particularly those with fewer characters and a numbers-first layout from the earlier eras, are often of interest to collectors.

First released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2023, this registration is a modern acquisition of a classic format. It sold for £3,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,852.
