About private number plate 62 XX
The registration 62 XX is a dateless plate with a short, four-character format, featuring two numbers followed by two letters. This layout, often described as two numbers followed by two letters, is concise and visually appealing. The repeated 'X' letters provide a degree of symmetry and memorability, a characteristic that can enhance its appeal to collectors.
As a dateless registration, 62 XX does not show a year identifier and has the clean look associated with older formats. Dateless plates, particularly those with fewer characters, are generally considered more desirable. The 'XX' initials offer a blank canvas for personal interpretation, making it a strong candidate for individuals seeking to represent their initials. Initials in the 'XX' range typically appeal to a more niche buyer pool.
This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2020. It sold for £5,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £6,420.
