7 KXM private number plate

7 KXM is a four-character dateless registration with a single number followed by three letters, presented in a number-letter format. This style of registration, often referred to as a "reversed" style, is typically associated with the early era of vehicle registration, broadly from the period of 1953 to 1963, though this specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £4,080 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,239. The clean, condensed layout of a four-character plate generally holds strong appeal, with fewer characters often translating to a more distinctive and memorable registration.

The "7" at the beginning of 7 KXM positions it as a low number, which tends to carry greater collector interest than higher numbers within the dateless range. For dateless registrations, shorter formats are typically more sought after, and this four-character plate fits that category. The initials KXM represent a niche demand, suggesting a smaller pool of potential buyers but offering greater rarity for those seeking this particular combination.

This registration does not show a year identifier, providing the clean look associated with dateless plates, making it adaptable to any vehicle for personal use, irrespective of its age. The dateless format also allows for a more streamlined and classic appearance compared to current-style registrations.

7 KXM was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024.
