7 SJX private number plate

7 SJX is a compact four character dateless registration, presenting the number 7 followed by the initials SJX. Its numbers-first, one number followed by three letters format and single-digit number give it a strong visual presence. Registered in the dateless era, a period broadly associated with registrations issued between circa 1953 and 1963, the format has the clean look associated with dateless registrations, and its survival from the earliest registration era adds historical and collector interest.

As dateless registrations have finite supply and are often sought for their personal connection, 7 SJX is likely to appeal to buyers seeking a unique identifier. The initials set SJX, while not in the highest tier of popularity, are certainly of interest to individuals with those initials. The number 7, being a single digit, follows the general hierarchy of desirability for dateless plates, where fewer digits and lower numbers typically command stronger appeal.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2017. It sold for £2,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £2,851.
