770 DBS private number plate

770 DBS offers a distinct combination of a numbers-first dateless registration with the recognisable initials DBS, a key element for enthusiasts of high-performance vehicles. The Aston Martin DBS and DBS Superleggera models are renowned for their power and style, making this registration a direct visual echo of those acclaimed automotive marques. This synergy between the registration's letters and a well-known car model creates a compelling angle for automotive collectors and owners.

The plate's format, three numbers followed by three letters, is a dateless dateless style that does not display a year identifier, providing the clean look associated with dateless registrations. While dateless plates of this format are generally from the circa 1953 to 1963 period, this specific registration, 770 DBS, was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2023. It sold for £20,110 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £25,821.

The number 770 is a three-digit number, and the initials DBS are considered strong in popularity, suggesting a broad potential buyer appeal. The combination of a commonly encountered number group and distinctive initials, along with the nod to a premium automotive model, positions this registration as a desirable choice for collectors seeking a blend of visual strength and automotive association.
