8 GEN private number plate

8 GEN is a short, four-character dateless private registration with one number followed by three letters. The number 8 is a single digit, which typically carries stronger appeal than double, triple, or four-digit numbers. Simpler-numbered plates are generally more sought after than their higher-numbered counterparts, and fewer digits create a shorter, cleaner registration. The number-letter layout is a design characteristic that collectors often find appealing, with this specific registration first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2022. It sold for £3,810 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £4,892.

The GEN initials offer mid-market popularity and could be of interest to individuals with these initials. This registration has the timeless look associated with dateless registrations. It was sold at a DVLA auction in 2022.
