8 HBY private number plate

The dateless registration 8 HBY presents a concise four-character format, with the number preceding the letters. This layout can be of interest to those seeking a straightforward and streamlined personal plate. The combination of a single digit, 8, followed by the distinct initials HBY offers a clean aesthetic often appreciated by collectors.

As a dateless registration, 8 HBY does not display a year identifier, lending it the timeless look associated with registrations not tied to a specific vehicle age. Such plates are generally highly regarded for their enduring appeal and potential to form the foundation of a personalised collection. The number 8, being a single digit from 2 to 9, is typically considered more sought after than higher number bands, contributing to the plate's appeal. The initials HBY themselves represent a niche demand within the initials market.

This particular registration was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2019. It sold for £1,800 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £2,333.
