8 KCC private number plate

The four-character registration 8 KCC presents a clean, numbers-first dateless format. This style dates from the circa 1953 to 1963 window, with registrations from this era typically offering a concise and visually appealing layout. The number 8, being a single digit, ranks lower in the number hierarchy than single digits 2 to 7 but generally precedes double-digit numbers. The initials KCC offer decent appeal and represent a larger potential buyer pool compared to rarer initial combinations, aligning with DVLA research stating personal connections like initial sets are a primary motivation for private plate buyers.

The short, four-character structure of 8 KCC aligns with the general collector preference for shorter registrations, as indicated by historical analysis of sold plates. Its dateless nature contributes to a timeless aesthetic, avoiding the year identifier inherent in current-style plates and offering a clean look that appeals to many buyers. Such formats are often sought after by individuals looking for a personal mark without a direct link to a vehicle's age.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021. It sold for £11,110 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £14,265.
